Priorities for Precinct 2

1 - Infrastructure

Listen: Residents consistently express frustration with deteriorating roads, water access in rural areas, and outdated county IT systems that slow or difficult services.

Lead: As a veteran with logistics experience, I will prioritize practical upgrades by partnering with TxDOT and local experts to address Precinct 2’s 165 miles of county roads and water challenges head-on (looking at you FM-20, 1339, Link, Cordova to name a few).

Deliver: We will secure targeted funding for road repairs, improve rural water infrastructure, and modernize county IT for faster, more transparent government services.

BLUF: Strong infrastructure starts with listening to residents, leading with disciplined planning, and delivering reliable roads, water access, and efficient digital systems that keep Precinct 2 moving forward.

3 - Tax Relief and Smart Investments

Listen: Homeowners and small businesses feel squeezed by rising property appraisals and want relief without sacrificing essential services.

Lead: Drawing on military discipline for fiscal efficiency, I will push for tighter appraisal caps and prioritize spending on core needs like safety and infrastructure.

Deliver: We will lower the tax burden through smarter investments and waste reduction, putting more money back in residents’ pockets.

BLUF: Real tax relief comes from listening to taxpayers, leading with responsible budgeting, and delivering smart investments that ease financial pressure while maintaining excellent county services.

2 - Managing Growth to Preserve Outstanding Beauty

Listen: Families and landowners value Guadalupe County’s natural beauty and small-town feel but worry that steady growth—about 3% annually, totaling 13% since 2020—threatens open spaces and rural character.

Lead: I will guide balanced development by enforcing smart zoning and preserving farmland while accommodating responsible expansion in areas like Seguin and Marion.

Deliver: Through community-driven planning, we will protect scenic views, rivers, and green spaces for future generations without stifling opportunity.

BLUF: We can manage steady growth while safeguarding the county’s outstanding beauty by listening to residents, leading with thoughtful policies, and delivering a Precinct that remains uniquely beautiful and livable.

Long Term Vision

The spectacular natural beauty and rural charm of Guadalupe County—our rolling hills, open spaces, and scenic vistas—are what make this place feel like home for so many families. My priority is to protect these treasures as we grow, requiring thoughtful development standards that safeguard green spaces, prevent sprawl, and maintain the Texas heritage we all cherish.

At the same time, we can foster vibrant small business growth along key corridors like State Highway 46—the vital link between I-35 and I-10 where local shops, restaurants, and family enterprises have room to thrive. By improving safe access, streamlining sensible regulations, and attracting quality jobs without overburdening infrastructure or taxpayers, we’ll build an economy that supports residents while keeping our county beautiful and livable.

Through direct listening to business owners and families, this balanced vision ensures Precinct 2 remains a place of opportunity and natural splendor for generations ahead.
